I have tried this method of making a self watering container from a bottle, and you know what it works flawlessly. The wick is performing good so far. And may be yes, it will not smell due to fresh water.

		<description>I think it won&#039;t smell, because it is constantly under a fresh water (it is fresh because you have to refill bottle periodically). I don&#039;t know how long it lasts for, but it must be for quite a long time :)</description>
